Now in it's fourth year, this festival is open from midday to midnight on both days, playing host to lots of unsigned Yorkshire bands with signed-up bands headlining in the evening.
This years line-up sees stadium rock artists, Thunder, headlining on Saturday, and soul/R&B legend, Roachford, on Sunday. Other acts include Tom Hingley and the Lovers, Reactor, Laika Dog, Rolan Bolan, Canadian trip-hop artist Kate Rogers, and hip-hop duo Fingathing, plus a full support of local talent.
Facilities on site will include a licensed bar, food outlets, a viewing area for disabled people, and the usual gathering of boutique stalls that is the Beached Village.
A series of fringe events are also planned, including an extreme film day screening back-to-back seminal music flicks at the Stephen Joseph theatre, and a series of 'Audience With' evenings, at the Westwood Theatre, hosted by Clint Boon of the Inspiral Carpets, whose guests will include Steve Harley and Mani from the Stone Roses.
On Saturday, from Midnight, The Spa Grand Hall, next to the festival site, will host the Beached All-Nighter, with DJs Mark Rae (Rae & Christian), Pete Simpson, Dual Control, The Nudge, Bristol-based Rob Smith and MC Kelz. The night will run from midnight until 6am.
There's no camping allowed on the beach so it's worth booking a campsite or other accomodation well in advance because Scarborough is a popular holiday resort.
