With all the usual features of a traditional community carnival, such as a Parade (one for floats and the Carnival Queen and another for Teddy Bears), Dog Show, It's A Knockout competition, fancy dress and firework display, Beccles carnival is open from midday until late afternoon when the Quay closes for ticketed events which take place each evening until around midnight.

Ticketed events take place at the end of the Parade Route in the Main Arena on The Quay and feature several well-known artists including Madness who are headlining on Saturday night and UK Bee Gees who is headlining on Sunday. The music programme for ticketed events is as follows:

Saturday: Monkey Spanner (start at 6.30pm); Orange Street (start at 8.30pm); and Bad Manners headlining (start at 10pm).
Sunday: Rhythm 'n' Reeds (start at 7.30pm); Tosh and the Moonlighters (start at 8.45pm); and Mark Anthony headlining (starts at 10pm).
Monday: Battle of the Bands runners up and winners (from 6pm - 8pm); Jamson's Nook; Austin Beats (from 9pm) interrupted by a Firework Disply (subject to weather and lighting - best viewed from the Beacon Field) at 9.45pm, and rounded off with more music from Austin Beats.

It is expected that all events will be finished by 11.30pm each evening.
