Shiiine On Weekender 2016

Shiiine On Weekender will be held from Friday 11th until Monday 14th November 2016 at Butlins Resort, Minehead, in Somerset.

Line-up

A celebration of Indie and Dance from the late 80s,90s and beyond, the line-up includes Echo & the Bunnymen, Cast, Black Grape, Jesus Jones, Echobelly, The Wonder Stuff, The House of Love, Shed Seven, The Bluetones, The Sex Pissed Dolls, Thousand Yard Stare, Cud, The Frank & Walters, Paul Hartnoll (Orbital), Utah Saints, Bentley Rhythm Ace, Marion, The Railway Children, Space Monkeys, Credit To The Nation, S*M*A*S*H, Symphonica featuring Mr Switch, Great Scott, and DJ sets from Will White (Propellerheads), Eddy Temple Morris, Cut La Roc, Pat Nevin, Jimi Needles, and Tam Coyle.

Latest additions Ash, The Farm, Dodgy, The Train Set, Audioweb, Alias Kid, The High, Electric Soft Parade, Love & The Family Tree, Happy Mondays (DJ Set), Hifi Sean (Soup Dragons), James Atkin (EMF), and The Freestylers.

New Bands appearing over the weekend include Deja Vega, Psyence, Echo Raptors, Uke2, Seprona, Stella Martyr, Trambeat, The Spitting Pips, The Black Jackals, The Sundowners, Cellar Doors, Mary Joanna, and Kaiden Nolan.

Plus tribute acts including The Clone Roses, Oasis UK, The Smyths, The Cure Heads, True Order, and The Kar Pets will be performing.

Club Nights over the weekend are Feeling Gloomy, Burn Down The Disco, Keep It Social, Cool Britannia, A Deeper Groove Little Indie Night, and Madchester Supersonic (ITALY).

In total expect over 50 acts across 6 stages. Plus a mini expo & pop up shop all weekend, and Bez's pool party, and Goldie Lookin Chain pool party, cinema screenings and exhibitions.

Tickets are priced from £195 per person based on four people sharing, for 3 nights.

Accommodation

Room Only accommodation offers either double, single or bunk beds with private bathroom and TV, but no kitchen facilities or lounge, more like a hotel room. Self Catering accommodation offers private bathroom, full kitchen facilities and separate lounge area with TV. Tickets are selling fast, and Room Only accommodation is available in 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 berth rooms, and Self Catering accommodation is also available in 4, 6, and 7 berths.

On site

Butlins Minehead looks out across a sandy beach. The site is equipped with a supermarket, newsagent, cash points and restaurants. Onsite facilities include a cinema, Splash Water World - a sub-tropical environment that has a wave pool, a swimming pool, 3 flumes and also a flume based raft ride - Ten-pin bowling and amusement arcade. Sports include Archery, Football, Basketball, Darts, Petanque, Fencing, Kwik Cricket, Netball, Rounders, Table Tennis, Outdoor Bowls and Crazy Golf.

All the onsite accommodation is included in the ticket price and located within walking distance of the indoor music venues. Each of the main stages has superb bar facilities and there are also various pubs, sports bars, restaurants and shops on site.

Getting There by Road

Heading north the simplest route is to take the M5 to Taunton (Junction 25), then take the A358 and A39 to Minehead. Heading south on the M5, you can follow the signposts for the A39 from junction 24. Butlins Minehead Holiday Camp is just half a mile along the seafront road from Minehead town centre.

Getting There by Train

If travelling by train, the nearest main line station to Minehead is Taunton. A bus transfer service is operated by Southern National between Taunton Station and Minehead. This service is available at an additional cost. On Mondays to Saturdays, there's approximately an hourly service, with the last bus leaving Taunton Railway Station at 10:15 pm. On Sundays and Bank Holidays services run every 2 hours from 9:35 am - 9:35 pm. For general information call Southern National on 01823 272033.
