Body & Soul Festival 2012

Once part of Electric Picnic the festival is based on the idea of a family friendly secret garden. This festival is all about celebrating and expanding the ideas from that well loved area. Back for its third year, and held on the weekend of the Summer Solstice next on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th June 2012 at Ballinlough Castle, Co. Westmeath in Ireland.

Line-up

The first acts confirmed are Spiritualized, Django Django, and Hollie Cook. The 2012 festival line-up will be made available soon.

Expect a treasure map of suprises filled with creative whims, undiscovered musical gems and decadent fancies.

Tickets

Tickets have sold out for the last two years. The early bird offer has ended. Weekend tickets are priced at 99 euros. This ticket can be paid in two easy installments of 49.50 euros the second payable on Friday 1 June 2012. For campers wishing to pitch their tent on the Friday there is an additional Friday Add-On ticket available for 25 euros, numbers are limited. A campervan ticket is priced at 30 euros, and a Sunday only day ticket is priced at 55 euros.

Families note that a limited allocation of Family tickets are also available priced at 99 euros. Be sure to choose this ticket if you wish to access to the Family Campsite. there are also ticket and bus from Dublin combined options available.

The Body & Soul Gathering will take place across the labyrinth of stone-walled gardens and woodlands in the beautiful surrounds of Ballinlough Castle. The programme includes live bands and electronic acts, street theatre, acoustic jams, a healing area, a permaculture garden, a soul kids area, visual arts, workshops, hot tubs, late night cabarets and a masquerade ball with a moon lit orchestra under the stars. In keeping with the ancient tradition, the weekend is expected to once again draw to an end with a fire ceremony. Marking endings and new beginnings, death and new life and the continuous cycle of change. Festival goers can create their own lanterns in an "illuminati workshop tent" and participate in the closing ceremony.
