Taking place at the end of Brightlingsea's annual celebration of competitive sailing, Pyefleet week, there will be live music in most of the town's venues on Friday night and street performances on Saturday morning culminating in Saturday's afternoon and evening performances. The organisers are hoping to build upon last year's success and make the festival a major event for live, outdoor, free music in North East Essex.

The full line-up on the main stage has now been confirmed and is as follows: Saltdog; The Vibrators; Barefoot; duluth; Monkeezuncle; Groove Doctors; Adrian Nation; Mahoney; and Time Out.

There are two stages, the Dome stage and the acoustic stage. A DJ competition and sound system is planned at the skateboard park. Continuing on from the debut of African drumming at last year's festival they're also aiming to hold a series of percussion workshops during the months leading up to the festival, culminating in a performance.

The festival is located just off the sea front on a large grassed area enclosed by beach huts and the open air swimming pool. Viewing is good and there is ample space to spread out the family picnic. There are cafes nearby and there will be food stalls providing alternative eating outlets on the day. This year, there is a licensed bar.

Free parking: There is a large amount of free parking but it can get pretty full – there will be an overspill car park a short walk away if necessary.
Alresford railway station is just over 3 miles away.
