With a really good friendly atmosphere, the Canterbury Sound Festival celebrates the rock music heritage of an area that was an integral part of British rock music in the late 60’s and early 70’s. It features performances by some of its main protagonists and their fellow compatriots together with a new generation of artists who readily acknowledge the influence of the legendary "Canterbury Scene".

For 2002, the festival grows to three days - starting Friday evening, and with camping now available in the beautiful grounds of Mount Ephraim Gardens.

This years line-up confirmed so far are The Stranglers,The Damned, Rick Wakeman, Pretty Things, 21st Century Schizoid Band (Mike Giles, Peter Giles, Ian Macdonald, Mel Collins and Jacko Jakszyk) playing the music of King Crimson, Arthur Brown, Caravan, All About Eve, Kevin Ayres, Ozric Tentacles, Mostly Autumn, Man, Karnataka, Muffin Men, with three others to be confirmed including one major name. For the full line-ups, click here.
