This festival is now in it's 14th year and follows the V Music Festival that takes place the preceding weekend. The Chelmsford Spectacular is a music and cultural festival which takes place annually over the August Bank Holiday Weekend in the landscaped setting of Hylands Park which has a natural sloping concert bowl. At the centre of the park is Hylands House currently under restoration.

On Saurday night, Blue are headlining with support from D-Side and Sinead Quinn. The gates open at 4pm with the concert kicking off at 7pm.
Sunday night is to be an evening with Elaine Paige with special guest Alexander Hanson, and the West End Concert Orchestra culminating in a firework finale. Gates open at 5pm with the concert beginning at 7pm.
PLEASE NOTE: The Sunday evening concert ticket does not allow access to the Sunday afternoon programme. A £2(£1) ticket should be purchased for afternoon activities.
Monday night is billed as a 'Double Decade Extravaganza', with Queen tribute band, The Royal Family, headlining, supported by the Searchers, the Drifters and The Swinging Blue Jeans and also culminating in a firework finale. The gates open at 1pm and the performance begins at 6.30pm. The day-time events are the same as on Sunday but a ticket to the evening concert also includes access to Monday's daytime events.

Daytime Events:
Daytime events are open to everyone on Sunday (open from 11.30am until 5pm)and to evening ticket holders on Monday. There are at least three music venues: The Essex Chronicle Orbit Stage; Songlines World Music Stage; and the High Chelmer Live And Local Tent. There is also Thompsons Cafe Cabaret, Team Extreme Street sports shows, street entertainers, the New Arts Circus performers, the Guild Of Essex Craftsmen and the Woodland Crafts Area, the Bluestone Healthy Living Zone, stalls, children’s Play In the Park area with an inflatable and trampolines plus face-painting, storytelling and workshops. You can also visit Hylands House, see The Backnang Experience Town Twinning Tent, The Museums Tent and lots more.

Camping
Camping tickets are available at £20.00 per pitch (valid for all days of the event).
The campsite opens from 12noon on Saturday 23rd August and will close at 10am on Tuesday 26th August.
Camping tickets can only be sold to adults booking tickets and on the basis that any children (i.e. persons under the age of 16 years) camping on the pitches will be accompanied by adults.
In order to buy a camping ticket, you must purchase tickets for at least one evening concert.
One ticket will permit entry for Campervans.
Barbeques may only be allowed on the campsite at the discretion of the campsite manager.

PLEASE NOTE: No weekend passes are available for this event. All evening concert tickets should be brought in advance and do not necessarily include automatic entry to daytime events.
