Cwlwm Celtaidd (translates as Celtic Knot) Porthcawl Interceltic Festival offers a packed programme of concerts, festival favourites, and new acts, music sessions, plus ceilidhs and workshops throughout the weekend.
The Interceltic Festival of Wales returns for three days, from Friday 4th until Sunday 6th March 2016 with 2 stages in The Grand Pavilion on the seafront, both the Main Hall and Stage Door venues will be in use throughout the weekend, all day, all evening and into the early hours. The festival is almost entirely "inside" and close to all the amenities associated with Porthcawl, one of Wales' premier seaside resorts.

A family festival of music, song & dance of the Celtic countries of Ireland, Scotland, Isle of Man, Cornwall, Brittany & Wales, with a packed programme of concerts, dances, workshops, street dance displays in the Town Centre and on the Esplanade on Saturday, there will be sessions in the bar and even a Beach Ceilidh on Sunday.
A total of over 300 performers will be performing at the festival, which will also be holding the colourful Parade of the Celts, in Porthcawl Town Centre on Saturday afternoon, with pipers, and a host of dancers and musicians in a free event.
Tickets
An early bird adult weekend ticket is priced at £35. No concessionary early bird tickets available, children under 10 free / concessionary tickets will apply to youths aged 10 – 15, and OAPs. A Friday night concert ticket is priced at £15 (Concessionary £14), Saturday ticket which includes access to all areas until 6pm is priced at £8 (Concessionary £7), Saturday night concert ticket is priced at £18 (Concessionary £17), and a Sunday day ticket which includes access to all areas until 6pm is priced at £10 (Concessionary £9)
Accommodation
Accommodation is available in mobile homes at Tresco holiday Park costs are reasonable with an eight berth mobile home priced at around £130 for the weekend. All caravans include a furnished lounge and dining area, one double and one or two twin bedroom/s, and convertible beds in the lounge. Prices include gas, electricity and heating but it may be cold so you are advised to bring extra bedding.
For campers and touring caravans, there is also The White Wheat Caravan Site which is open for the festival.
Local amenities
The festival is close to all the amenities associated with Porthcawl, one of Wales' premier seaside resorts, including the town centre, beaches, coastal paths & dunes, golf clubs & outdoor pursuit centres.
Getting there
By car
Take Junction 37 off the M4 and follow the signs for Porthcawl. As you enter Porthcawl, take the first left off the roundabout - signposted to Bridgend. Turn right at next roundabout and Trecco Bay is signposted.
By public transport etc
The nearest station is Bridgend, which is about 10 miles away. The X2 bus runs from Cardiff past the railway station and stops just outside the park. Cardiff airport is about 25 miles away and taxis from there shouldn't cost more than around £25.
