Darvel 'Homecoming' Music Festival 2009

The Darvel 'Homecoming' Music Festival is set in Darvel, a small East Ayrshire town (22 miles from Glasgow), and plays host to a variety of bands spanning indie, country, celtic, traditional and more.

This year's 'Homecoming' festival will run from Friday 1st until Sunday 10th May. Acts confirmed to play include:
Fri 01 May: Eddi Reader, Roddy Hart, Esther O' Connor and Adriana.
Sat 02 May: Hamish Stuart Band with Jim Mullen, and Ruby Turner.
Sun 03 May: Martin Taylor's 'Freternity', Rainy and the Dust, Joni Keen, and Euan Stevenson Trio.
Thu 07 May: Maggie Bell & Dave Kelly.
Fri 08 May: Attic Lights, Primary 5, Dropkick, and the Parish Music Box.
Sat 09 May: Gary Louris & Mark Olson (The Jayhawks), Endrick Brothers, Eileen Rose and the Holy Wreck, and Hey Negrita.
Sun 10 May: Four Good Men (Simple Minds, H2O and Owen Paul), JJ Gilmour (ex - Silencers), the Garrett Wall Band, and Boo Hewerdine.

The Darvel Primary Schools afternoon concert will take place on the 7th of May.

The festival will also have a 'Fringe Event' running on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th April at Darvel Town Hall featuring What The Heroes Say, The Ghosties, Streetlight Conspiracy, The LA Fontaines, The Longhorns, Iain Morrison, Laki Mera, T V21, Kim Edgar and Man At The Window.

The Stagecoach Bus Group will, for the first time be offering return bus journeys from Ayr and Glasgow via Kilmarnock to Darvel utilising their bio-bus fleet. Tickets for buses can be purchased at the same time as concert tickets. As well as dedicated transport links, Stagecoach have also agreed to sponsor the final concert of the festival.

Ticket prices depend upon event, varying from £7 (fringe events) to £30, Friday or Saturday tickets start at £20, Sunday tickets from £17.50. They can be purchased by clicking here.
