Deeply Vale POSTPONED 2006

Deeply Vale will not be happening in 2006. They hope to hold a festival in 2007.

Plans are afoot for the revival of Deeply Vale in 2006, on a different site from the original festival but still near Rochdale. Subject to licence, it's expected to take place from 22-26th June.

The idea is for the festival to be more in the leftfield style of Glastonbury than the 'just bands on stages' format of the other larger festivals.

It's hoped that through a tie-in with BBC 6 Music, Phil Jupitus and Marc Riley will compere the main stage, Craig Charles will compere a tented Funk session, and Bruce Dickinson will compere a tented rock session. It's expected that BBC GMR will be hosting an unsigned/North west bands event.

Tickets are expected on sale around the end of February.

The festival is currently looking for traders that have an ethnic and green feel to them, and also environmental groups who may wish to have displays at the festival.
