The 10th anniversary of Download will be three days of heavy rock music over three stages at Donington Park, the spiritual home of rock! Download will be held over the weekend of Friday 8th to Sunday 10th June 2012. In memory of Jim Marshall the main stage will this year be named after to 'the Father of Loud'.

Line-up

The latest additions are Skindred, Ghost, Saint Jude, Shadows Fall, My Passion, Feed The Rhino, La Dispute, Lawnmower Deth, Six Hour Sundown, Silent Descent, With One Last Breath, The Union, No Americana, Royal Cartel, Tyla, The Dirty Youth, Yashin, Voodoo Johnson, and Sanguine, with Five Finger Death Punch having pulled out.

The Prodigy headline the Friday, Metallica Saturday playing their untitled 'black album' in it's entirety, and Black Sabbath will headline Sunday. Also confirmed are Soundgarden, Chase & Status, Biffy Clyro, Slash, Rise Against, Megadeth, Steel Panther, Black Label Society, Billy Talent, Killswitch Engage, Shinedown, Black Veil Brides, NoFX, Opeth, Nightwish, Kyuss Lives, Terrorvision, As I Lay Dying, Fear Factory, Periphery, Ginger (The Wildhearts), Reckless Love, You Me At Six, Tenacious D, Machine Head, Trivium, Lamb Of God, Devin Townsend, Devildriver, Little Angels, Anthrax, Ugly Kid Joe, Europe, Halestorm, Firewind, Turbonegro, Theory Of A Deadman, Stellar Revival, Anti-Nowhere League, Turbowolf, Mallory Knox, The Safety Fire, Emmure, and Brokenand August Burns Red. Tickets

The early bird offer has ended. A weekend arena ticket with camping options was priced at £180 for 3 nights, £190 for five nights, or £155 without camping all these options have sold out. Lockers are priced at £12.50, car parking £15 in advance (motorbikes are free). Campervan supplements were priced at £60 and along with family camping have sold out, and VIP packages are also available (VIP camping has already sold out). Day tickets are available priced at £75 for Friday and Sunday. Saturday has sold out.

NB: Kids aged 12 or under will be eligible for concession rate tickets for Download 2011. These can be purchased on the day from the on-site Box Office and availability of these will be unlimited. A kids weekend arena ticket with 5 night camping is priced at £95.

Late night entertainment

The bars stay open after the entertainment has finished, and running until 2am (Friday to Sunday) they'll be an after-hours Campsite Entertainment Zone, which has a café, beer stall, funfair rides, various shops, and a cinema.

RIP Metal Hotel

This year's Download will also see the debut of the 'RIP Metal Hotel', an indoor 'pop up' hotel located on the festival site. Each room will have two beds, thermostatic climate control, an en-suite wet room with toilet, basin and shower, storage space, a flat screen TV, and secure card entry. All rooms will be serviced with with quality linen, towels and toiletries by dedicated Metal Hotel personnel, as well as offering continental breakfast. Rooms will be available shortly.

Flag ban

Download has banned flags on sticks in the main arena.

Food and drink

You can bring your own alcohol with you if you are camping, though it will not be permitted in the music arena. Remember, no glass bottles are allowed anywhere on site, but cans of drink are fine in the campsite only. You will only be permitted to take in soft drinks in to the arena and these must be in plastic bottles no bigger than 500ml. Food can be taken in to the arena, though not in a glass container.

Expect the campsite to open at noon on Wednesday 6th June and to close at noon on Monday 11th June.

Markets include a variety of food from around the world, as well as clothes, jewellery, massages, piercing & tattoos, organic foods, souvenirs, merchandise, chairs, and other stuff.

Small children

We do not recommend you bring small children under 5 with you to Download. Children under 16 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Shuttle Buses

Shuttle Buses will run from Derby and East Midlands Parkway stations regularly with a shuttle bus running from the airport at well.
