The majority of festival events take place in Langney, in two schools and a community centre on the east side of town from Friday 29th April until Monday 2nd May.

The emphasis is on dancing, to participate in, watch, lead and make music for, covering a wide range of tastes and styles from Playford, English Social, American and International Folk Dance, with evening dances in those styles.

Line-up

The first acts include Keeping Thyme, Stick the Fiddle, English Contra DB, Barefoot, and Hobson's Choice (NL).

English & Playford workshops - Playford Costume Ball on Saturday evening with Val Webster, Chris Turner, Nigel Close, Paul Garner, and June Kemp.

American Contras & Squares: Cis Hinkle (USA), Lynne Render.

International Dancing: Eddy, Anneleise, Dalilah Heath, AnneLeach, Clyde Oliver & Mike Machin, Dutch DIP, Greek & Ukranian groups.

Scottish Workshops: Kathy Lawmon

Irish Set Dance: Anne Leach

Belly Dancing Workshop & display: Alison Hallewell.

Tickets

An early bird (before 1st February 2011) season ticket which gains admittance to all events is priced at £70 (full price £72), day tickets will also be available. In order for folk fans to concentrate on dancing and playing, all the venues are close together, within a short walking distance. Also close by is a canteen for snacks, the school which provides light meals and a bar for hard and soft drinks.

During the day there are four workshop sessions, and an afternoon tea-dance. On Friday evening there are three simultaneous dances; on Saturday and Sunday nights there are four, plus other special events programmed.

There are plenty of places to stay around town as well as local camping facilities.
