A city council sponsored event featuring more than 40 live events at various venues in Exeter, which runs from Friday 12th to Sunday 28th June. Internationally renowned musicians perform classical, world, jazz and folk music, plus exhibitions, dance, drama, family events, and street theatre. Many events are free.

The Festival kicks off on Friday 12th June, with an opening parade, street entertainment and the popular two-day Craft Festival on Cathedral Green. In the evening there's family fun with a circus themed free Party on the Quay with live music, events for children and firework finale.

This year's line-up includes Bjorn Again, and The Beat. New this year is The Exeter Festival Jazz Club at Exeter Corn Exchange, with Claire Martin Trio, Martin Taylor and Courtney Pine playing tribute to Sidney Bechet.

Exeter Cathedral hosts classical concerts including Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Rotterdam Chamber Orchestra and Exeter Festival Chorus with Back Beat. Plus flamenco with Ballet Espanol, and Julia Grecos.

There are special events for children and families too, alongside comedy, street entertainment and theatre.

Variety on the Exe, returns with the best in new circus vaudeville and is guaranteed to cause mayhem. Continuing to spread the feel-good factor across the city, top comedy lines-ups will include Adam Hill, Brendan Burns and Pappy's Fun Club.

Exeter Phoenix stages two family events with the Adventures of Peter Rabbit and TPO, from Italy's which follows the life of a butterfly. At the Exeter Northcott there's The Tiger Who Came to Tea.

On Saturday 27th June, Cathedral Green is the setting for a day of celebration marking the 1100th anniversary of the Diocese of Exeter and The Archbisop of Canterbury joins in the Songs of Praise outside Exeter Cathedral. During the day the Green is being used like a beach with family fun including acrobats, clowns and music. The day's finale is a concert by AJ's Big Band.

Concerts in the Cathedral, storytelling in the Guildhall and free street theatre in Princesshay will allow festival-goers the opportunity to sample both the city's heritage buildings and modern design.
