Featuring some of the best-loved acts in the Folk scene, on an ideal site Folk by the Oak is a one day folk festival for 5,000, now in its sixth year, set in the beautiful grounds of Hatfield House in Herts happening on Sunday 21st July 2013. The event runs from 2pm until around 10pm.

Oysterband, Kate Rusby, Lau, Jim Moray & the Doret Ensemble, Carthy Hardy Farrell & Young, Fay Hield & The Hurricane Party with Martin Simpson, and Katriona Gilmore & Jamie Roberts.

Other entertainment

In addition to the musical programme of contemporary folk and acoustic artists the family friendly event offers a craft fair, workshops, children's activities, storytelling, circus skills, real ale bar, music stalls, recycled gifts and a selection of tasty produce and a real ale bar on site.

Tickets

Early bird tickets are priced at £32 per adult, £35 if booked after 1 April 2013, or £39 on the gate. A child aged 5-15 years ticket is priced at £16 (age 4 and under are free, and do not require a ticket). Early bird family tickets are priced at £88 for 2 adults and 2 children. Advance group bookings of 10 or more qualify for a £2 reduction per ticket. To buy tickets, click here.

Take a picnic

Festival goers are invited to bring a picnic, but for safety reasons no fires or barbecues are allowed. Refreshments and bar will be available. Seating and cover is not provided so chairs, tables, picnic blankets and umbrellas are all allowed. No dogs, other than guide dogs, can be admitted. This is a non-camping event.

Getting there

Hatfield train/tube station is just five minutes walk away, and there's ample free parking.
