The community led Folk Weekend returns for a seventh year from Friday 21st until Sunday 23rd April 2017 and will be based again at the Old Fire Station, with additional events in other venues throughout the city centre.
A weekend of Morris dancing, concerts and performances, a host of free song and music events, and a huge ceilidh.
Line-up
Confirmed so far are: Nancy Kerr and James Fagan, Melrose Quartet, Jim Moray, Leveret, Ange Hardy, Jackie Oates & Megan Henwood, John Spiers, Dan Walsh, Dipper Malkin, Jimmy Aldridge & Sid Goldsmith, The Emily Askew Band, The Discussion Topic.
Local Oxfordshire acts will include Coldharbour, Edward Pope, Irwing-Brown-Acty, Shivelight, White Horse Whisperers, The Skeptics, Short Drag Roger.
Alongside this varied concert line-up, the festival promises ceilidhs, workshops, European-style dancing, Morris dance displays, and many free family events. Folk Weekend is proud to be paving the way in accessible and inclusive music-making, and is building on 2015's first 'relaxed' performance with a series of events during festival Saturday, which aim to encourage members of the community who may normally feel excluded from the folk arts. These Special Saturday events include a Makaton-signed performance of folk songs, a ceilidh for people with Special Needs, and a workshop exploring the use of technology in making music more accessible.

Tickets are priced at £67 for weekend.

Expect a return of the Village Fête, crafts workshops, Morris dancing and performances, a Children’s Festival, storytelling, singing workshops, Morris dancing workshops, a family ceilidh. There will be free performances, workshops and informal music sessions.
Accommodation
Accommodation is available at B&Bs, caravan and campsites in and around the city of Oxford.
