The Frome Festival is now in its eighth year, and will take place from 4th - 13th July.

The annual ten-day Frome Festival is Somerset’s largest community festival, with more than 160 events held at various venues in and around the town including the Memorial Theatre, Merlin Theatre, Cheese & Grain, at various churches, and on the riverside.

The events confirmed so far, are:

The line-up also includes high profile performers and personalities. Paul Merton and his team will be appearing once again, and another comedy genius, Ken Dodd, is in the programme. Dudley Sutton also makes a welcome return this year with his unique one-man show. And two well-known personalities making their festival debuts are folk/jazz singer June Tabor and cellist Julian Lloyd Webber.

Other artists include world-renowned British Asian singer, Sheila Chandra; eminent Spanish pianist, Maria Angel Garcia, who performs a Chopin recital; and the Czech physical theatre company Jolly Jumps. And Longleat Great Hall once again hosts a fantastic gala evening of music and poetry.

Other events are likely to include performances at the Cheese & Grain, and the 4th Frome International Lying Championship at the Griffin Inn. Details of all performances will be published here when available.

The festival features more than 160 events over ten days, covering classical, jazz, folk, and world music, plus literary events, film, art, walks, talks, and workshops plus exhibitions throughout the town and surrounding area, daily Acoustic Breakfasts, Open Gardens, Open Studios, the inaugural ' Through the Keyhole', a World Feast, drama productions, a Summer School, events for children and attracts performers from all over the world. As well as a Gala Week-end, Frome Festival Short Story Competition, Journalism Competition, Kumon Children's Book Review, a Treasure Hunt, and more.
