Pyramid Stage, Friday 25th June
Before Glastonbury the only thing I'd heard of the Bare Naked Ladies
was their single 'One Week'. This was my first Glastonbury and the
Bare Naked Ladies were the first band I watched, I was not
disappointed. They lifted my spirits for the whole weekend,
interacting with the crowd and playing some great songs. Some of their
funniest lines include:
"It's great to be headlining Glastonbury.... This is the headline slot
isn't it?"
"This is a security announcement, in the event of an emergency the
fish and chip van is over there"
"It's great to see so many beautiful people at the front... I mean of
course, the security guards"
The poor security guard probably didn't know what hit him, when he was
dragged on stage to play guitar for the first time in his life to a
cover of the Kinks 'You Really Got Me'.
I'm not saying their music is the greatest in the world, but if I get a chance to see them live again I'll be there. For the all round experience they make my top 3 acts (along with Faithless and The Freestylers).
