The Great Escape features hundreds of international and UK pop, cutting edge, hip hop, electronic, and rock acts showcased at venues all over Brighton.

The dates for 2012 are confirmed as Thursday 10th until Saturday 12th May 2012.

Line-up

Maximo Park's show will take place at The Dome in Brighton on Thursday 10th May, The Temper Trap on Friday 11th, and Africa Express Sound System will appear on Saturday 12th May. To ensure guaranteed access any of the separate Brighton Dome Shows, attendees can top up their 3 day festival ticket for just £7 per show, or purchase separate Brighton Dome Show tickets priced from £14.50.

The line-up will include over 300 acts from around the globe in around 30 venues within Brighton City Centre. The venues are all a close walk from each other with each venue equipped to an international showcase standard.

This year The Great Escape will be joining forces with Insititut Ramon Llull to present music from Catalonia, northeastern Spain, and the Balearic Islands from Barcelona to the Mediterranean islands..

Speakers

As well as the live music, there's also a number of "Parkinson" style interviews with luminaries from the world of Music and Media, to show the way in which success is achieved, as well as educational panels, workshops and networking sessions. John Kennedy, will be in conversation with Jon Hillcock, at The Great Escape in Brighton this May, discussing his 22 years supporting new bands on the radio, and his 13 years fronting 'Xposure', the longest running show on Xfm and an important platform for new music in the UK.

The Great Escape have also announced they will be opening up a number of the shows to a 14+ audience.

Hostel

Festival-goers, can set up an affordable base at Brighton's Journeys Hostel for £30 per night. Well located in relation to all TGE gig venues, a stay at Journey’s guarantees that all guests receive the lowest price possible for their stay as well as providing a better atmosphere for meeting and interacting with fellow festival goers.
