Saturday, 24th March
The opening procession starts along Hawick High Street at 10.30am, led by costumed riders on horseback, and features an all-day 16th Century Market and Reivers Encampment, plus a Reiver Wedding at St. Cuthberts Church at noon.
Drumlanrig Tower is open all day with activities and displays and there are 4 different dramamtic performances in St. Marys Church at 11am, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm - all free. There are also free Childrens Art Workshops for 5 - 12 year olds from 11am to 12.30pm & from 2pm to 4pm.
Traditional Music Workshops take place all day at various venues and include fiddle, guitar and whistle/flute to suit all(some experience is necessary). For full details, contact D.Anderson on 01450 370356.
Other events on Saturday include a free guided walk, a torchlight procession The Hot Trod starting at 6.45pm, and a firework display and bonfire at Volunteer Park Sports Ground. Torches will be on sale to those aged 16 and over (at your own risk).
