This community festival offers a wide range of events over the weekend, many aimed at rediscovering Reiver ancestry through drama, music, re-enactments, crafts, walks, horses and arts.

The programme usually includes concerts, an Opening Procession on Saturday, starting along Hawick High Street at 10.30am, led by costumed riders on horseback. There's also an all-day 16th Century Market and Reivers Encampment, plus a Reiver Wedding at St. Cuthbert’s Church at noon.

Also on Saturday, Drumlanrig Tower may be open with activities and displays and in previous years dramamtic performances have been held in St. Mary’s Church at 11am, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm - all free. There may also be free Children’s Art Workshops for 5 - 12 year olds from 11am to 12.30pm & from 2pm to 4pm.

Traditional Music Workshops take place all day at various venues and include fiddle, guitar and whistle/flute to suit all(some experience is necessary).

Other events on Saturday are likely to include a guided walk, a torchlight procession – The Hot Trod starting at 6.45pm, and a firework display and bonfire at Volunteer Park Sports Ground. Torches will be on sale to those aged 16 and over (at your own risk).
The Evening Concert begins at 8.30pm in Hawick High School and features a talented artist in concert, plus other young musicians and singers.

Sunday is slightly more sedate and will include a Walk of the Hawick Common Land incorporating the traditional route taken by Hawick Cornet and his supporters when riding the Common on Common Riding morning). There's also likely to be a talk at 4pm followed by High Tea at the Mansfield House Hotel (£10 – pre-booking essential) and an Evening Service at 6pm in St Cuthbert’s Church.
