These twice-yearly celtic/roots/world music festivals have been running in the hills of Scotland's Southern Uplands since 1998, and this one is centred around the Autumn Equinox - this is the last year that this autumn event will be held.

Throughout the day and through to the night, the central Bo Airie stage hosts a wide range of performances, including high profile, internationally recognised artists alongside emerging and local performers. The second smaller, Shieling World stage is home to music and dance in a more intimate setting, doubling up at night after the main stage has closed into a enclosed dance space.

Acts confirmed so far for the Bo Airigh stage, in the Shieling, the Cabaret stage, the Tallyn and the Longhouse are Warsaw Village Band, Kathryn Tickell Band, Chumbawamba, Nucleus Roots, Rory MacLeod, N'faly Kouyate & Dunyakan, Jock Tamson's Bairn, Mas y Mas, Kangaroo Moon, Big Hand, Warblefly, Jacob's Pillow, Trouble, and Mungo's Hi Fi Sound System. For the line-up details as available please click here.

The DJs in the Tallyn Silent Disco and the Dance Tent over the weekend include Aphrodite with MC Junior Red, Trouble, Mungos Hi Fi System, DJ's Myng & Styx, DJ NoFace, DJ Manky Boy, Some Chick Called Bob, Bebado, DJ Zaguiero, Astroboy, and Cold Up Norf Records.

The festival also offers open mic sessions, an acoustic village, storytelling, street theatre, cabaret, and fire spectaculars. Tai-chi and other workshops are free to weekend ticket holders, and there's also a solar-powered cinema, silent disco, healing area longhouse, children's marquee and procession, puppet shows, global shopping, food, real Scottish ales, plus showers, and on-site camping.

Tepooka will be performing a fire spectacular and there will be be aerial acrobatics from Spinal Chords.

This year advance ticket holders will not be able to access the festival before Friday morning and you will not be able to camp in the central festival area until Friday morning. Gates will be open to all at 10am on Friday 19th September. Disabled camping facilities are provided. There are local B&Bs in the area if required.
