Eastbourne's annual free festival of music dance and entertainment is back for a 14th year on the Western Lawns on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th July 2014. With folk music, morris dancing, traditional giants, carnival and a Grand Parade plus live bands every afternoon, and evening plus a Ritual celebration of Lammas expected at around 5.30pm, on the beach on Saturday.

Line-up

Saturday: Carol George, Seafront carnival Parad, Kelvin Message, Gadzooks, Sea Gypsies, Local Belly Dance, Bombus Lucorum, Sussex Sance Studios, Ragati String Band, and of course the Ritual celebration of Lammas.

The ceremony starts with the dance 'John Barleycorn' performed by Hunters Moon Morris, symbolising the cutting of the corn and showing the cycle of life, death and rebirth.

All day events include stalls, crafts, kids fun, storytelling, tarot, birds of prey, pole lathe demonstration, Matthews Mousetown, Morris Dancing with Hunters Moon, Gong Scourers, Black Brook, Royal Sovereign & Pentacle Drummers.

Sunday: Blueshift Jazz Band, Porvar, Sea Gypsies, Black Strap Molasses, Sussex Dance Studios, Matt Cooper, Open Air Celidh with The Moonbeam Band, and caller Keith Leech.

All Day events include Morris Dancing with Hunters Moon Morris, and Spirimawgus, Lifeboat Demonstration, stalls, crafts, storytelling, tarot, pole lathe demonstration, and more.

On site

There will also be a beer tent and craft stalls open all day on the Wish Tower Slopes plus storytelling, puppetry and children's activities.

Charity

The festival will be making a collection in aid of the R.N.L.I. Last year they raised £1663 taking their total since the festival started to over £10,500.
