As part of London's commitment to ensure as many people as possible have a chance to be involved in the celebrations surrounding the Games, the Mayor of London, The Royal Parks, the London Borough of Tower Hamlets and international event promoters Live Nation have teamed up to create London Live will take place at Hyde Park, Victoria Park and Trafalgar Square with events from Friday 27th July until Sunday 9th September 2012.

27 July: The Opening Ceremony with Duran Duran, Snow Patrol, Stereophonics, and Paolo Nutini - commercially ticketed, tickets priced at £60.

28 July - 11 August: Free entry: The Park will offer viewing of the Olympic Games via a series of large screens, including the UK's largest. The live BBC coverage will include the Olympic medal events; with cultural entertainment and live music also on offer. London Live in Hyde Park will be free to access between July 28 and August 11.

The line-up of FREE to view acts announced include Tom Jones, Will Young, McFly, Newton Faulkner, The Beat, St Etienne, The Overtones, and The Temper Trap, The Cast of 'We Will Rock You', Feeder, Dodgy, Levellers, Cast, Amy Macdonald, Paul Carrack, and Kenny Thomas - days to be announced. Sport coverage starts at 10am, with Hyde Park 'Guaranteed Entry Tickets' access before 2pm – events close at 12.30am each day.

BT House at Hyde Park
BT House will offer people the opportunity to meet sport stars including Dame Kelly Holmes, Daley Thompson, Greg Searle, Martin Keown, Ade Adepitan and Liz Johnson; listen to live music performances on the BT Vision stage; win tickets every day to the London 2012 Games, including Closing Ceremony, Athletics and Gymnastics, by playing London 2012 - the Official Video Game of the Olympic Games; or to just relax and get online with BT Infinity and BT Wi-fi.

Open from 27th July to 12th August the line-up will include live daily performances at 4pm from artists such as Conor Maynard, The Noisettes, Tinchy Stryder, Aiden Grimshaw, Jodie Marie, Dot Rotten, Stooshe, Spector, Roots Manuva, Dry the River, King Charles, Josh Osho, Alex Clare, Lucy Rose and Benjamin Francis Leftwich.

BT London Live has something for everyone, from a variety of different live music acts to watching the 100 metres final on a 160m2 screen, the 55m high BT Observation Wheel giving views of the Olympic Park, amazing outdoor spectacles, have-a-go sports, bungee trampolining, Zip Lines and Zorbing, plus al-fresco Sports Bars and much more.

Families with kids looking to try out new sports, Londoners wanting to catch up with the Games after a long day at work, or groups of friends wishing to catch their favourite music acts live – BT London Live will be the place to be in London during the Games.

12 August: 'Best Of British' Olympic Closing Ceremony with Blur, The Specials, and New Order at Hyde Park - commercially ticketed - £55 a ticket - SOLD OUT.

Victoria Park
27 July - 12 August: Victoria Park in Tower Hamlets will provide a more intimate viewing experience with a 'sports café' style approach to enjoying the 2012 Olympic Games. Two giant screens will share the park with a series of smaller screens showing BBC live coverage. There will be an emphasis on sports participation with a range of have a go sessions at the Victoria Park Sports Courts, and a series of evening concerts and cultural entertainment will enliven the site daily. The Opening and Closing Ceremonies will be broadcast live at Victoria Park from the nearby Olympic Stadium.

Many established acts, including veteran DJ Norman Jay and British jazz stalwart Courtney Pine will descend on Victoria Park to provide musical relief. From the Hackney Colliery Band, to Live Connection bringing new British talent to the fore, to Rhythms of the City Samba's leading percussion performance, expect the unexpected. Dance 'til you drop as legendary club nights Guilty Pleasures and Club de Fromage take up residence on the Stage.

Trafalgar Square
29 August - 9 September: Once the focus shifts to the London 2012 Paralympic Games, London Live will relocate to Trafalgar Square, where a giant screen will show live coverage courtesy of Channel 4 Television. There will also be sporting activity, cultural entertainment and evening concerts.

Tickets

There are three options for entry into London Live.

The Opening and Closing Ceremony Celebration Concerts at Hyde Park on July 27 and August 12 will be ticketed, with headline acts and prices to be announced in early 2012. There will be free admission to Victoria Park on Opening and Closing Ceremony days.

Tickets to the Opening Ceremony Celebration Concert are priced at £60.

Walk in on the day ­ all London Live dates except the two Celebration Concerts in Hyde Park - will offer free access, with people able to turn up on the day, subject to capacity. Hyde Park and Victoria Park will also offer 'guaranteed early entry tickets' for access before 2pm ­ see below.

Guaranteed early entry tickets - up to four tickets per person will be able to be booked in advance for entry to Hyde Park and Victoria Park before 2pm each day for a transaction fee of £3:50 per booking. Registration via the website will be required for these tickets. These tickets will not be available for the Opening and Closing Ceremony and on days that the Triathlon competition takes place ­ this applies to Hyde Park only.

Accommodation

This event does not have camping but there are a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in the area.
