The Maryport Blues Festival takes place from Friday 23rd to Sunday 25th July 2010.

Line-up

The headliners have been announced as the Robert Cray Band on Sunday, Booker T on Saturday, and Paul Carrack on Friday. Other acts confirmed for the main stage include Canned Heat, Mica Paris, Bex Marshall, Marcus Bonfanti Band, Hokie Joint, Gregg Wright, The Rory Ellis Duo, and Battle of the Bands competition winners Feed Me, who will open the 12th Maryport Blues Festival on Friday.

The Blues Trail has 14 bands performing in the clubs and pubs around town over the festival weekend, playing every blues genre from rock blues to country blues to boogie woogie. For the acts, see the line-up page.

There will be music on the outdoor stage and in pubs & clubs around town. The line-up will feature over 40 bands and 150 individual musicians from all over the globe who will be performing in the main stage marquee, in the pubs and clubs, on an outdoor stage and on the street, will be announced soon.

Tickets

Tickets are priced at £105 for an adult weekend ticket, Friday day tickets are priced at £38, Saturday day tickets are priced at £50 and Sunday day tickets are priced at £55 for both afternoon and evening sessions. To buy tickets, click here.

Entertainment

As well as two main stages there is usually a DJ room, a visual arts and workshop area, a festival club, film programme, children's festival, an expanded market festival bazaar, and a silent disco.

Workshops

The programme of workshops has not yet been announced. Workshops take place on either Saturday or Sunday, start at 10.30am and last one hour. Tickets are available, priced around £5 each, from The Wave and the Blues Festival Office (The Maritime Museum).

There are also numerous stalls selling musical instruments, crafts and so forth, Fair Trade goods, and information stalls on issues of global interest. Plus workshops include drumming and guitar.

Coaches

Coaches will be running over the weekend transporting festival goers between Maryport and the local towns. Return journeys are available on the Friday, Saturday & Sunday between Maryport and the following towns: Carlisle, Wigton, Aspatria, Keswick, Cockermouth, Egremont, Cleator Moor, Whitehaven and Workington.
