Commissions

New commissions will premiere at this year's festival as part of mjf originals, the festival scheme that pioneers new work.

A new collaboration with HOME Jazz Goes to the Movies, a series of films that present a visual and audio snapshot of the interaction between jazz and cinema including documentaries, biopics and films celebrated for their use of jazz related scores, the season highlights include Louis Malle’s Lift to the Scaffold with its mournful Miles Davis score and Bertrand Tavernier’s superlative Round Midnight, featuring, amongst others, Dexter Gordon. We also herald the return of the Tubby Hayes doc, Man in a Hurry, a HOME sell-out when it was shown in 2015. Full programme announced soon.
