The Mostly Jazz Festival expands to three days and brings three days of mostly jazz music to the surroundings of Moseley Park, Birmingham on Friday 1st until Sunday 3rd July 2011.

The Mostly Jazz Festival is the UK's only, open air, one-site festival, exclusively dedicated to contemporary jazz, funk and soul.

Line-up

: The Cinematic Orchestra top the bill on Friday, Matthew Herbert Big Band on Saturday, and Beats & Pieces Big Band on Sunday.

Friday: Gilles Peterson will be introducing Alice Russell, Brandt Brauer Frick, No Fakin', Shawn Lee's Ping Pong Orchestra, Alternative Dubstep Orchestra, and Sam Redmore.

Saturday: Manouche, Dele Sosimi, Hidden Orchestra, Milestones play ‘Kind of Blue', Matthew Halsall, Andy Hamilton And The Blue Notes, Beats & Pieces Big Band, The Steve Tromans Debop Band, Levi French Trio, Lluis Mather & Noose, Chris Young, and Birmingham Jazz Ensemble.

Sunday: The Steve Tromans Debop Band, Craig Charles DJ Set, Cantaloop, Oya Batucada, The Atlantic Players, The Moves, and Keith York Quintet.

Craig Charles will be bringing along Booker T, Brassroots, Smoove & Turrell, Pigbag Ariya Astrobeat Arkestra, and The Paris 1940s.

The second stage will feature up and coming talent with Birmingham Jazz, Leftfoot, and The Yardbird curating. Each will showcase some of their top acts, so expect to see a wealth of emerging sounds.

Tickets

An adult day ticket is priced at £28.50 for Friday, and £35 for Saturday or Sunday, and weekend tickets are priced at £77. Tickets for children aged 12-16 years (when accompanied by a paying adult) are priced at £13 for a Friday day ticket and £15 for Saturday or Sunday, or £35 for a weekend ticket. On site

The festival will have two stages side by side, the second of which will feature up and coming talent. There will also be films, artist talks, music workshops, jazz dance performances, live comedy and spoken word.

Accommodation

This event does not have camping but there are a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in and around Birmingham.
