Sixth annual Mouth of the Tyne Festival takes place from Friday 9th to Sunday 11th July 2010.
Line-up
Highlights include a Bollywood-themed parade, spectacular fireworks, world-class street performers from around the world, a pageant and on World Cup final day, the Lightning Seeds. Other musical highlights include Seth Lakeman, Diane Birch, and the festival headliner James Morrison.Tynemouth schedule

Sunday Jazz Stage: Les Rois du Fox-Trot, Hot Antic Jazz Band, and Rae Brothers New Orleans Jazz Band.

This year's pageant in Tynemouth will include hundreds of local school children embracing an Indian inspired theme, with music, dance and costume-making all playing a huge part in the procession.Meanwhile, South Shields' opening parade will include a collaboration between French and British-Asian re-interpreters of Bollywood. The performance will take place on the seafront involving dozens of performers, musicians and a life-size model elephant, before a spectacular fireworks finale.
Other happenings throughout the weekend include; make-up demonstrations combined with circus and comedy, a crash course in how to behave at the dinner table, culinary demonstrations with an Australian TV cook, and a comical Belgian duo who perform acrobatics and spectacular juggling with lots of audience interaction, and South Asian dance company and breakdancers from Newcastle-based 'Bad Taste Cru' will also perform at the festival.
