LINE UP: HAVEN, SHED 7, JOE STRUMMER, IAN BROWN, PAUL WELLER.

After being battered, bruised and injured from the performance by Green Day last night, I was looking forward to a nice relaxing day at the MOVE event.

After managing to hobble into the arena, I could see that there were fewer people than the previous day. Also there was a distinct lack of dyed green hair, which could only mean that the audience today were going to be a lot friendlier than the previous day.

The weather was just perfect as well. The sun was shining whilst a gentle breeze kept everyone cool- perfect conditions for an event like MOVE.

Haven had the privilege of opening MOVE`s penultimate day. I personally can’t stand anything Haven has done. However I have to give them credit where credit is due, they are faultless live. They are probably one of the most talented ‘new’ bands on the scene today.

Shed Seven
Shed 7 were up next. The audience seemed to enjoy their set. However they just didn’t seem to have any stage presence at all. Their songs are well written but that was not enough to keep my attention. Shed 7 would be well suited to smaller venues, because they just haven’t got the experience to pull off a good performance on a big stage.

Joe Strummer
Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros were quite disappointing. They just seemed to play tracks that no one wanted to listen to. Again there was nothing wrong with their musical ability they all know how to play their instruments brilliantly, but what is the use of that if you are only going to play tracks that no one wants to listen to?

Ian Brown
Due to 'technical difficulties' Ian Brown arrived late on stage. Even when he managed to make it onto the stage his set was plagued with 'technical problems' and sadly he had to cut a few tracks out. Despite these problems, Ian Brown put on an excellent show. He still managed to play all the crowd favourites such as 'Corpses' and 'F.E.A.R'.

Paul Weller
Paul Weller was very entertaining to watch, however I didn’t recognise any of his songs that he played. The songs were very melodic and catchy. He also had a couple of special guests playing guitar and bass for him- the guitarist and bass player from Ocean Colour Scene (they are big fans of Paul Weller). After watching Paul Weller, it is easy to see why so many people enjoy going to see him live. I will probably try to see him live again when I know more of his songs.

The atmosphere at today’s MOVE event was a lot more relaxed and friendlier than the previous day. This gave me a chance to recover from some of my injuries. Quite a few of the bands on today’s bill were not what I would usually listen to. However Haven impressed me, and Ian Brown was awesome, even more so when you consider all the 'technical problems' that occurred during his set.
