11TH JULY
The final day of this years Move festival had another impressive line-up once again, ranging from The Beta Band to the legendary Morrissey.
The Ordinary Boys managed to impress with their radio friendly sound; safe mild rock music. There's anything wrong with that, just that you get the feeling it has been done numerous times before. However, despite the lack of originality, The Ordinary Boys do a fantastic job of entertaining the crowd.
The Beta Band were next up. They managed to replicate their studio sound and included all of the weird and crazy experimental sounds that have made their albums so impressive. Some of the audience werent too sure what to make of this band, but in general they kept the audience happy and more than likely increased their fan base.
The New York Dolls were simply amazing. Their frontman looks like a cross between Mick Jagger and Steven Tyler (Aerosmith). Yes, the New York Dolls are very old, but still have that raw energy and passion to put on a superb live performance of in your face punk music.
The arena was rammed full of people waiting to catch a glimpse of the headline act. I wasn't too sure what to expect myself, never really a fan of The Smiths or Morrissey, so I didn`t have too many expectations. But after watching Morrissey, it's easy to see why so many people turned up to catch him.
There was the usual dead pan banter from Morrissey while his vocal ability is up there with the best on the music scene today.
Morrissey is charismatic, witty, and very talented. If ever you get the chance to see him live, then definitely go and check him out; you won't be disappointed.
