Mull of Kintyre Festival 2008

The 16th Mull of Kintyre Music Festival takes place between Thursday 21st and Sunday 24th of August in Campbeltown, Scotland.

The festival will include the official Festival Club (with Open Mic slot), the Young Folk Night, the Grand Festival Parade (Saturday), open-air concerts, pub sessions, free music in the bars, family events as well as ceilidh’s, standing and seated concerts, and there is camping available.

The confirmed acts for this year's event include on Friday the Festival Ceilidh Night with Skipinnish, Bodega, Skipinnish ,Gillian Frame Trio joined by Ross Kennedy and Rebecca Brown, and Kintyre Schools Pipe Band.

Justin Currie is the headline act on Saturday night with Capercaillie, Rod Paterson, Rod Paterson, The Justin Currie Band, and Attic Lights also playing at the festival.

Sunday has performances from Jarlath Henderson & Innes Watson, Archie McAllister with Ross Kennedy, Lorne MacDougall, and The Dalriada Connections Band.

There's also a return of the established events such as the Festival Ceilidh, Grand Parade and Survivors’ Night (with Wee Toon Tellers and The Lemmings), Festival Club held in the Town Hall, the family-orientated outdoor event "Doon the Green" featuring the Criterion New Orleans Brass Band and the Festival Club on Saturday afternoon, along with champion brass and pipe bands, pub sessions and loads of free entertainment the weekend promises to be packed with lots of fun. The town's Burnside Square holds the Burnside Bash on Saturday evening and also hosts live music on the Sunday.
