Originally launched in 1996, the Ross-on-Wye International Festival seeks to provide a broad range of entertainments to a varied audience.
The Festival takes place in various locations in and around the pretty market town of Ross-on-Wye, nestled in the Wye Valley and within easy reach of Hereford, Gloucester, Birmingham, Cardiff and Bristol.
Last year included sell-out shows from The Hollies, the Waterboys, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Elkie Brooks and Van Morrison; international acts such as Orchestra Baobab, the Camut Band and Eva Yerbabuena Flamenco Dance Company; comedy from Jeremy Hardy and Rhona Cameron; street theatre in the High Street and an opening aquatic parade by KTO theatre from Poland which had the streets of Ross-on-Wye jam-packed.
2004 expects to be a comparable celebration of different types of music and performance including jazz, opera, pop, classical and world music, theatre, dance and comedy. Watch out for more information here as it becomes available.
