The Forest Mela 2009

The FREE Forest Mela takes place from 11am until 8.30pm on Saturday 8th August 2009 at Appletree court, Lyndhurst, in Hampshire within park lands in the heart of the New Forest. This is the first of what is hoped will become an annual event.

A day of music, performance, art and activities for all with the line-up on the main stage including DJ Satti & Ziance - Introduce Africa D, Pulled Apart By Horses, Capoeira, Guitar Guitar, Steven Keith & The Aw Band, Kit Ashton, Django, Aaron Soul, Young Kof, Harlem Gem, Batala, Innominata, La Tinta Bros, Louche Manouche, Kathak Dance, and Steel Pan Band.

Entrance will be free of charge and everybody is welcome.

The new forest Mela 2009 is supported by charitable donations and with the help of many volunteers. Those wishing to make a voluntary donation will be welcome to on the day. Funds raised will go towards future events in the New Forest and also to support families and children in the communities in the area.
