The Leeds Urban Festival present the Halloween Carnival Weekender 2009 which brings together urban acts and performers to celebrate Leeds' rich, vibrant and talented community and culture.
Happening from Saturday 31st October 2009 until Sunday 1st November 2009 at BeaverWorks, Leeds, the event will be celebrating with two days of aural and lyrical wonders and partying away the Halloween Weekend.
The line-up confirmed so far is:
Live Urban Arena: Lethal Bizzle, Skepta, Foreign Beggars, Killa Kela, Fresh Jive, Double D Dagger, Manny Moscow, Tricksta, Kaned And Able, Mr. Bristow, and special guests and local live artists & acts TBA.
The Warehouse Arena hosted by Jungle Jam: Blame, Nicky Blackmarket - 2 hour exclusive L.U.F. old school set, Kenny Ken 90 mins exclusive Jungle Jam Set, Remarc, Defacto, Shock, Pesk, Prophecy, MC Rumpus, MC Jila, MC Logic, and special guests.
The Basement Arena hosted by Exodus: Heny G, L.D., Luke Envoy, Jack Sparrow, Ramadanman, Exodus, Joe Dubs, Bass Junkies, Electrotrip, and special guests.
Leeds Radio Frequency Arena: T-Phonic, Marshall, Luke EP, and hosted by Leeds' Radio Frequency Residents.
The Twisted Top Outdoor Arena: Twisted fun with Thrill rides and Classic stalls, fun games and quality prizes. Everything in this spooky Arena will be designed to awaken the spirits, send a tingle down your spine and put a smile on your face, all with a Twisted Halloween Theme! From Chilli-Toffee apples to Twisted Face Painting.
Sunday's line-up includes: Crissy Criss - BBC 1Xtra (2HR), DJ Jeppa (90min Championship Set), Iration Steppas, Exodus, Sammy Dread, Kulez, Defenders of Style, Alphabetix, Verbal Contact, Phat Pat b2b Pasteman, Panick, Damski, Hybrid Hustlers, Gamanji, Gloxxy, A-Jay, Souljah Sessions, Relic, OMP, and many more.
Tickets for this over 18s only event are priced at £25 for a Weekend Ticket (Early Bird Ticket £19) A Saturday only ticket (from 1pm until 4am) is priced at £22.50, and a Sunday only ticket (from 1pm until midnight) is priced at £12.50.

The festival is to have Industry led Workshops with acts including Foreign Beggars, DJ Jeppa, FreshJive, Defacto, T-Phonic, Mr. Bristow, and MC Logic. These workshops are held for the general public (in attendance) and offer the chance to watch, learn, ask questions and be guided by the professionals! These Workshops are free and is an opportunity open to all who want to learn. The intention is to engage and connect with the community and give back to where a lot of the artists performing have come.
The festival is also runnig competitions in 4 categories: Breakdancing (Hosted & Judged By FreshJive), a DJ Competition Judged by 2009 DMC Champion DJ Jeppa, an MC/Lyric Competition, and a Graffiti and Live Art Competition. These offer 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place prizes with the Award Ceremony to be held by Industry Leaders. These competitions are open to all.
The weekender also offers fair-ground rides to Halloween fancy dress, performance workshops from the headliners, and hand-picked exclusive sets, across fives arenas. Offering beat boxing, a professional breakdancing exhibition and battle competition, art, professional industry workshops, cinema & projections, bazaar, and carnival food.

This event is non-camping and does not offer accommodation, there a wealth of options available in and around Leeds itself.
Please note: Smart Trainers / Caps / Hoodies are okay, there will be metal detectors and I.D. checks in operation.
The festival is a positive celebration of its culture and community and highlights the plight of the Speak To The Streets Project - The Pat Regan Legacy. There will be fundraising programmes running for this community based project with provides positive activities, input and engagement for young people to make positive life choices and live a fulfilled life. The event will be donating a minimum of 10% of all profits to this worthy organisation and helping out as much as they can.
