Rock and Fun Festival 2011

Rock and Fun Festival is a family fun day and rock festival combined, held from Saturday 27th until Monday 29th August 2011, the August bank holiday, at The Steamboat Inn, Sawley.

Line-up

Saturday: Metal Fatigue, Joe Black, Battle Of Ashes, Daniel Dobbs, Twisthand, Tin soldier, Copperhead, and headline act Toxic Federation.

Sunday: Petnagon, Jess Salvesani, The Gentle Italian, Pet Shop Boys Tribute, Sara Lim-Smith, Split Sofa, Sane river, Avegastar, and headline act Old Skool, ending with the pyro and lighting show.

Monday:The snatch, GLM, Davis & Black, TBC, Sarah Turrell, Hannah Faulkner, Twisthand, Final Cut, and headline act NG26.

Tickets

Tickets are priced at £2, admission on the gate only. Gates open at 11am each day and will close at 10pm.

Charity

This is a charity event supporting "Babes in Arms" charity no 1129348.

Despite many advances made in the fight against this condition, over 300 otherwise seemingly healthy babies die of cot death every year in the UK alone. Babes in Arms based at the Northwick Park & St Mark’s Hospitals, in Harrow, have been researching into the reasoning behind these untimely deaths and also lead research into pre-eclampsia, amniotic fluid embolism and other studies into infant deaths. Purple-Sage are supporting this worthy charity via on going events throughout the year.

On site

There will also be bouncy castles, slides and face painting for children, stalls selling everything from jewellery, incense, books, and CDs to cakes, sweets and pop.

There will be a BBQ, selling the usual burgers/hot dogs but also curry and rice, salad plates and mushy peas, and have vegetarian options. And for those of you who fancy a pint, the steamboat Inn are on hand to satisfy your taste buds.

Accommodation

This event does not have camping but there are a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in the area.
