SCIPMYLO Festival 2012

SCIPMYLO Festival takes place at Hackney Marshes east London from Friday 27th July until Sunday 12th August 2012. The festival will draw inspiration from the spirit of the international community descending on London this summer to highlight the positive spirit that is reflected in the multicultural residency and lifestyle of the East End.

This event will bring together a host of talent from around the corner and around the world, family friendly sports experiences, an international pavilion hosting Kenya, The Caribbean and many more, as well as local and global food and drink, in the first ever East London food festival: East Feast.

Line-up

Ali Campbell, Buraka Som Sistema, Guillemots, Soul II Soul present Back II Life featuring Jazzie B and Norman Jay MBE, Soul Xplosion featuring Light of the World, Gwen McRae, James 'D-Train' Williams, Colonel Abrahams & Joyce Sims, Aswad, The Straits, Steve Harley & The Cockney Rebels, Death In Vegas, The Cuban Brothers, DJ Yoda and Transsiberian Marching Band.

There's also comedy, cabaret and theatre including Dylan Moran, Milton Jones, Alan Davies, Greg Burns (MC), Mr Cee – Snigger Please, Axis of Awesome, Urban Comedy Collective with Danny 'Slim' Grey, Rudi Lickwood (MC), Dane Baptise, Ola, Annett Fagan and A. Dot Comedian, Nathan Caton, Kane Brown, Nabil Abdula Rashid, Prince Abdi, Babtunde, Quincy, Joe K, Special P, Funmbi, Glenda Jaxson, and Xavier Mortimer.

Tickets

Entry to the festival site, open 11am - 11pm is free. All music shows (one per day 28th July – 12th August) will take place on the SCIPMYLO main stage. Tickets will be priced £25-£35 or you can celebrate in real style by upgrading to VIP SCIPMYLO packages from £120 including posh barbecue, drinks and covered seating. To buy tickets, click here.

Accommodation

This event does not have camping but there are a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in the area.
