Masquepony takes place at Cartmel Medieval Village and Racecourse in Cumbria the Lake District on Friday 17th to Saturday 18th August 2012 featuring mainly street arts, but with some world and folk music too.
The nature and scale of the inaugural Masquepony event has been downsized from three to two days which will give audiences the option of still enjoying a weekend with some (but not all) of the Masquepony acts.
Line-up
Details of the mini-Masquepony programme include Friday afternoon Street Theatre in Cartmel Village 12 noon 4pm FREE, a Festival Circus in the Big Top, plus free circus workshops to learn some new skills between shows. 4pm & 6pm, Pay What You Like.Friday Evening - Tongues of Fire and The Coal Porters 8pm Cartmel Racecourse Grandstand Tickets £9 and £6(concessions) Booking details to follow shortly.
Saturday also offers a Festival Circus in the Big Top as above, and the Masquepony Banquet - The main focus of the weekend. Many of these artists were already booked to play at Masquepony share an evening of comedy, magic, music and laughter. FREE (pay what you like, Tickets not required) 6pm-9pm, Cartmel Racecourse.

The activity will now mostly be FREE of charge and all those who have booked tickets for the original programme will be given a full refund.On site
The first UK street arts festival that will include the opportunity to camp on site. Cartmel Racecourse have agreed to still allow people to camp onsite during the scaled-down Masquepony. From the M6 junction 36 follow signs for Barrow-in-Furness (A590). On the Meathop roundabout take the right exit and follow the brown signs for Cartmel Priory. Continue through the village to the Market Square.The festival has been organised by Kendal Arts International in partnership with Manchester International Arts who created and deliver Lakes Alive, Cumbria's programme of outdoor arts events.
Lakes Alive is the county's contribution to the Legacy Trust UK programme, which was set up to help build a lasting cultural and sporting legacy from the 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.
