The Coronation Festival takes place in the grounds at Buckingham Palace in London from Thursday 11th until Sunday 14th July 2013.

Line-up

Katherine Jenkins, Russell Watson, Katie Melua, Laura Wright, The Feeling top the Festival's evening music programme which will also feature performances by the National Youth Orchestra, English National Ballet, Eric Whitacre, The Fanfare Trumpeters from the Household Division, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, East London Dance and Matthew Bourne's New Adventures, Dhol Foundation, Only Boys Aloud, young performers from the Sylvia Young Theatre School, opera singers from Dame Kiri Te Kanawa's Foundation, and more.

A series of scenes will celebrate music of the Commonwealth and reflect Britain's unique leadership role in pop music since the 1960's. British musical, film and television excellence will also be championed with some of Britain's most iconic films, from The Avengers to James Bond, paid tribute to in a theatrical dance performance.

Day-time visitors

Visitors to the Coronation Festival will be able to enjoy a day in the Gardens at Buckingham Palace, where more than 200 Royal Warrant holders will be showcasing their products and services. The Gardens will feature four areas: Food & Drink, Design & Technology, Homes & Gardens and Style, Pursuits & Pastimes. As well as offering an array of shopping and sampling opportunities, there will be interactive features and experiences to educate and inspire.

Evening visitors

Visitors to the Coronation Festival in the evening will be able to enjoy and explore the Gardens and Exhibitor Marquees, prior to taking their seat for the Coronation Gala - a celebration of music and dance over the last 60 years, the Coronation Gala will chime with the themes of the Festival - tradition, excellence and innovation - and will feature outstanding home-grown talent and performers from across the Commonwealth.

Accommodation

This event does not have camping but there are a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in the area.
