World City Music Village 2014

World City Music Village takes place from Wednesday 25th June until Sunday 6th July 2014 at various venues across London.

Line-up

Festival Weekend at Osterley Park and House: DJ Jamie Renton.

Saturday: Melodians Steel Orchestra, Pakaw, Melange Collective, Amaraterra, Umpatacum.

Sunday: Wuntanara, Daphna Sadeh, Warmi, Yusuf Mahmoud, Dele Sosimi.

Festival Club at venues around London: Confirmed guests include: Romesh Gunesekera, Noontide Toll, Yrsa Daley-Ward, Rez Kabir, A Spell in Time, Deanna Rodger, Lokkhi Terra, Aar Manta, Jyotsna Srikanth, Paprika, Simo Lagnawi, Anthar Kharana.

Festival weekend at Wilton’s Music Hall: DJ Ritu.

Saturday: Silk String Quartet, Nagmeh Ensemble, Nogabe, Olcay Bayir, Lokkhi Terra.

Sunday: Maya Youssef, Perunika Trio, Namvula, Kasaï Masaï, Family Atlantica.

This 12-day celebration of cosmopolitan London at its creative best will feature over 40 free admission world cultural performances in the capital; exciting and exclusive new Festival venues; guest presenters DJ Jamie Renton and DJ Ritu; and the first ever Music Village live stream.

The Festival will showcase over 100 London-based performers from Afghanistan, Brazil, Bangladesh, Bulgaria, Colombia, Italy, Greece, Iran, Morocco, Peru, Somalia, Syria, Venezuela… and many more. Their joyfully diverse performances testify to the importance of creativity in generating intercultural dialogue, understanding and peace.
