THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED.

Wildwood Festival has been cancelled. Organisers made a statement saying,

"After careful consideration the directors of Lowdown Music have decided to call a halt to promoting Wildwood Festival 2015.

The reasons for this are financial in that the directors have sunk every penny into financing the project out of their own pockets, but are no longer in a position to continue without investment funding to secure the headliners we need to improve and secure ticket sales.

Despite a great band line up already in place, ticket sales are flat. In order to continue, headliners are necessary to secure additional funding through sponsorship, but without headliners sponsorship is not forthcoming in the time that we have left between now and the event going live in August 2015. To complete the Catch 22 scenario, headliners are now taking bookings for 2016 not for this year.

Our recently appointed sponsorship and PR agencies understand our ethos and will remain ‘online’ to retain Wildwood as a viable entity going into 2016 and will lead the effort in securing funding as a priority before we try to do this again.

Establishing a new Festival is fraught with challenges, but we believe we have met most of them except for this crucial funding issue. We have completed 3 Safety Advisory Group meetings with East and West Lindsey district councils and their advisory teams. We have made many friends involved in the cultural and artistic heartbeat of our beautiful county.

We believe as do many of our friends & colleagues that Wildwood is a great ‘brand’. We have been complimented on our professionalism and approach and indeed many of our suppliers and professionals have been fully supportive in our efforts in developing a ‘proper’ music festival where music is the key and the circus aspect a distant second.

This has been reflected in the ‘faithful’ who have purchased tickets. To this select club we guarantee that you will be reimbursed as quickly as possible. To our traders who have already sent us deposits for their pitches, we also guarantee that these will be returned to you.

To sum up this has been a very difficult decision to make and we hope that most of you will appreciate that we have given it our best shot. We also hope that you will remain on side in our efforts to stage Wildwood in 2016."
