The tenth Pembroke Festival, organised for the community by the community takes place from Thursday 12th until Sunday 15th July. The aims of the Festival are to showcase local talent and for Pembroke to get together and celebrate, forgetting the recession.
Line-up
The festival will feature a mix of local and national musicians. This year there are several icketed events on the Friday and Sunday evenings which will include The Silver Beatles, Paper Aeroplanes, The Shaws and The Numbers Racket. As well as these great bands playing in the marquee on the South Quay there will be loads of exhibitions, competitions and activities for all ages throughout the town.This year Pembroke Festival is joining forces with Monkton Village Fayre, Pembroke Carnival and The River Rally. There will be activities in many places. On Saturday 14th there will be Monkton Village Fayre on Monkton Village Green, the Carnival Parade and Show at the Rugby Ground, events on the South Quay and along Main Street, activities on the Commons and the Millpond as well as interactive plays for children in Holyland Wood.
Theme
The theme this year is Myths and Legends. So dress-up, decorate your wheels and roll along and join in in the procession on Thursday 12th July either on a bike, roller skates, skateboard or in a wheelchair; pushing a pram, pushchair or shopping basket; driving a go-kart or scooter.On Saturday 14th July there will be a firework display from the Castle ramparts.
Accommodation
This event does not have camping but there are a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in the area.More information will be here when available.
