The 10th Perthshire Amber Festival runs from Friday 24th October until Sunday 2th November in various venues around Perth and Kinross, Scotland. The event was created, managed by and stars Dougie MacLean and his family, and brings together many musicians and entertainers from different parts of the world who have been involved with Dougie MacLean over the years.
It also provides an opportunity for him to perform little heard songs, as well as well known favourites! From the first festival in 2005 Dougie has delivered, (as far as earthly possible!) his promise of 'no song being repeated'.
Line-up
Dougie MacLean will be performing with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra on Friday 31 October. This year's line-up is led by Eddi Reader, Duncan Chisholm and Rachel Sermanni. The programme also features home grown talent including Emily Smith, Tom Spiers and the Mischa McPherson Trio and international musicians including The Paperboys from Vancouver, Eliza Lynn from Nashville and Buddy MacDonald from Cape Breton.
Tickets
A mega concert package is priced at £271 (and includes: 10 Evening Concerts (Individual Ticket Price £21) and 7 Amber Afternoon Concerts (Individual Ticket Price £15)
10 evening concerts £200, 5 concerts £105, 4 concerts £84, 3 concerts £63. 7 Amber afternoon concerts aqre priced at £98. Workshop and lecture ticket prices are around £5 depending on the event.
Venues
The festival is held in a range of distinctive venues including Pitlochry Festival Theatre, Blair Castle, Dunkeld Cathedral, The Crannog, Castle Menzies, and The Baronial Hall.
Perthshire Amber is one of the funded events in the Homecoming 2014 programme and as a new development for the festival they are launching a Heritage Day planned for the first Saturday of the festival in Dunkeld. The Heritage Day will celebrate the history and culture of the area and will include a themed Decorated Wheelbarrow Procession through Dunkeld, historical re-enactments, food and drink, traditional children’s games and storytelling and of course some great live music!

This is a non-camping indoor event, there are a range of places to stay, or eat in Perthshire.
