Porthcawl Elvis Festival 2012

Claiming to be Europe's biggest gathering of Elvis artistes and their fans, this event offers three days of fun and music all over the normally sleepy seaside town of Porthcawl, roughly halfway between Cardiff and Swansea, near to Bridgend. In 2012 the festival happens from Friday 28th until Sunday 30th September 2012.

What's on

The feature events are the Official Shows taking place in the Grand Pavilion. These include The Elvies the World's premier event for Elvis Tribute Artists. In addition, The Hi Tide host over 100 shows over the weekend, many with free admission.

Programme

Friday afternoon sees Heat One of The Best Festival Elvis Competition. In the evening, The Three Kings Show features Best Festival Winner 2010 Ricky Aron, Darren ' Graceland' Jones, who represented Wales in the 2010 Elvis World Cup and last year's Best Festival Elvis, Andy Wood.

Heat Two of the 2011 Best Festival Elvis competition starts at 12 Noon on Saturday, followed by the Final – two shows for the price of one!

Saturday night is The Elvies – the World's leading award show for Elvis Tribute Artists.

The Gospel Show takes place early afternoon on Sunday, presented this year by Dean Mack, Best Gospel Award Winner 2010, along with special guests. This is followed by Mike Nova's Movie Show. The Festival comes to an end on Sunday night with the Trilogy Show, featuring a Sun Studio Set, the '68 Special from Colbert Hamilton and finished off with a Vegas set from the 2010 Elvis World Cup Winner, Scotland's Johnny Lee Memphis.

Backing each nightly show is Red Alert. The Sun Studio Stage will feature ETAs playing with a replica version of Elvis' original band. New for 2012 is The Legends Show, featuring ETAs as you've never seen them before and hosted by John 'SuperNova' Lennon. Entry to these shows is free to VIP Ticket Holders.

Shows for individual tickets are available or you can buy a VIP package priced at £120 which includes prime seats for each show, an invitation to the Champagne Reception on Friday, free admission to the Stagedoor Sun Studio on Friday and Saturday, The Legends Show on Sunday and Aftershow parties every night. Fringe festival

Over twenty venues in and around the Town form the Fringe Festival, making Porthcawl the largest Elvis event in Europe.
