Pride Bristol takes place on Saturday 16th July in Castle Park, Central Bristol.
Line-up
Kelis is the headline act for Pride Day 2011.Main Stage: Kelis, Clare Maguire, Bright Light Bright Light, Dr Meaker, Le Gateau Chocolat, Rowdy Superstar, Heg Doughty and the Wolf Chorus, Sing Out Bristol, Ruthie T.
Showcase Stage: Emily Breeze and the Daily Tremours, Muff Said, Siddy Bennett, Eric Ness, Gecko, Kenelis, Karen Marie Yates, The Funkensteins.
The Alternative Tent: TBA, a line-up aimed at the more adventurous Festival goer including burlesque, indie and rock bands and DJs playing underground music of all genres from rock to disco and back again.
The Youth Area: will include performances from REMIX, the youth music project based at the Colston Hall, dancers, performers who are part of the LGBT youth group Freedom Youth and live art.
The Cabaret Stage where the best drag queens and cabaret artists in the region will be performing. Though heckle at your peril as these waspishly witty beauties are certain to have a devastating comeback for you.
Plus queer tent, community zone, stalls, food, and bars.
Tickets
Like many other Prides nationally, this year's event sees the introduction of ticketing. Staging the event safely, and ensuring that there is adequate infrastructure on-site to support visitors, would be impossible without the introduction of ticketing. Once tickets have been exchanged for wristbands festival goers can come and go as they please, nobody is refused re-admission.Adult tickets are priced at £11, Concession tickets (open to claimants, under 16's, full-time students, over 60's and disabled people) are priced at £8.75. Pride Bristol is a not-for-profit organisation, and all ticketing income is ploughed directly back into the costs of the festival. Pride is a celebration of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community. Pride Bristol 2011 is organised by the LGBT community for the people of the South West. Pride Week: July 9 17, includes numerous diverse cultural events and culminates in Pride Day, a large festival in Castle Park on the Saturday.
