Relentless Boardmasters 2009

This takes place over five days this year from Wednesday 5th to Sunday 9th August at a cliff-top location overlooking Watergate Bay, and Fistral Beach.

The Relentless Boardmasters is held on three sites across Newquay offering action sports including surf, skate, bmx, plus daily live music acts and the music festival.

The Streets have been announced as the Friday night headliner, and Cypress Hill top the bill on Saturday. Other confirmed acts announced include Calvin Harris, Dreadzone, Roots Manuva, Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip, The King Blues, Master Shortie, Fionn Regan, Noisettes, The Ghost of a Thousand, Fanfarlo, Filthy Dukes, Chew Lips, Tommy Sparks, Hexes, Haunts, Turbowolf, Sharks, The Computers, and Don Broco. The line-up for Beach Seassions includes The Blackout, We Are The Ocean, Everything Burns, Downtown Riots, Pete Murray, Ben Howard, Rob Sawyer Band, Max Tuohy, The Boy Who Trapped The Sun, Sneaky Sound System, and Jellyjazz.

The event will commence Wednesday 5th August at the Fistral Site with the opening party and the first Beach Session. The trade village will not be open that day. The trade village including the Beach Bar will open Thursday 6th August until Sunday 9th August. Do not come to Fistral on Monday or Tuesday expecting to go into the trade village like you may have in previous years as you will be disappointed. The Fistral site is home to the 5 star WQS Surf Competition now in its 28th year and the Relentless Aerial Assault, showcasing the best in radical and progressive surfing. Also taking place at Fistral are the Vans Skateboarding and BMX events. The 5 Star $120,000 WQS Surfing event will commence on Tuesday 4th August so all surf fans wanting to watch every heat then Tuesday is the day you need to arrive.

Elsewhere at Fistral is the trade village and a beach bar serving up pints looking over all the action on and around the beach. As evening sets in the bar rearranges itself into a live music venue in the shape of the Beach Sessions.

The final event is the Vans Newquay Park Pro, taking place at Wooden Waves skate park.

Fistral will once again host the surf, skate and BMX competitions on the beach front topped off with live music every night in the Beach Bar. In addition to the cliff tops of Watergate Bay hosting the music festival.
