OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT:
A statement from organisers says:
"Due to severe weather warnings issued by the Met Office there will be huge restrictions on parking and we cannot guarantee parking as we have a no vehicle movement policy on site issued by the council.

We as a matter of URGENCY request everyone to either get dropped off or use public transport.

The weather is beyond our control and the team as a whole are working tirelessly to keep this event on schedule and would respectfully ask everyone to reduce the car numbers.

BIKES AND TRIKES WILL HAVE THE USUAL ACCESS TO THE SITE & CAMPING AREAS.

2. RE CARS - THERE IS A LIMITED AMOUNT OF HARD STANDING SPACE - FIRST COME/FIRST SERVED - WHEN THIS IS FULL ITS GOING TO BE MUDDY FIELDS - WE WILL ENDEAVOUR TO ASSIST ANYONE THAT GETS STUCK ON THE SUNDAY, BUT THE FARMER MAY CHARGE FOR THIS SERVICE - WE ADVISE ALL LOCALS TO GET DROPPED OFF.

3. BRING A SMILE - WE ARE WORKING 24 HRS A DAY TO MAKE THIS THE ONE UK FESTIVAL TO CARRY ON REGARDLESS - HELP US TO HELP YOU.

If you're into Rock Music and Bikes or just festivals in general then this is for you. The Rock and Bike Fest moves to a new home at Elvaston Castle Showground, in Derby, and will happen from Thursday 12th until Saturday 14th of July 2012.

Aside from the music you'll find good food, great beers, great family entertainment, creative arts & crafts, great kids entertainment like rides, etc. There is also a childrens zone onsite. Activities for children include Circus skills workshop, and face painting.

Line-up

Friday night headliners are Pendulum (DJ Set), Saturday night headliners The Sweet, and The Quireboys, plus Toyah Willcox, x-UFO, Killerz, Guns N Roses Experience, Rammlied, Sack Sabbath, OC/DC, Jilted Generation, Wraith, Chasing Dragons, Notley Crue, Evilscarecrow, Stage Fright, Gatecrasher, Faithealer/Junction, Spirit Levellers, Aynt Skynyrd, Megadeath UK, Smokin' Gun, SNB, Dan Diamond, and displays from MCW wrestling, Hell On High Heelz - pole dancers, Black Pig Border Morris Dancers, Clive Eastwood + more.

The Comedy tent features compare Frankie Peoples, as well as Freddie Farrell, Ben Briggs, and Lou Chawner.

Tickets

The price for tickets is £40 and will be priced at £50 on the gate subject availability. All children aged 12 years or under, are admitted free. A car parking ticket is priced at £5, a campervan pass is priced from £10, and a caravan pass is priced from £15.

Custom Bikes and Trikes

Custom Bikes and Trikes will be coming from all over Europe to compete in Best Bike & Best Trike, the winners will win trophies and cash prizes and there will also be Best Tattoo, and Fancy Dress competitions with this year's Fancy Dress Theme bring Spooktacular Friday 13th.

On site

In addition to the formal gardens which you are free to walk around, there is acre after acre of woodland and parkland incorporating a lake, picnic areas, children's play areas. A tea room, information centre and gift shop are located in the main Castle buildings.

Expect two stages, The NEW massive indoor Marquee and the good old faithful Rock Tent. Over 40 stalls and attractions, free parking for Bikes and Trikes and Free Camping for all. Kids go free and there is even a children's play zone area. Children can participate in learning circus skills. All Staff are CRB checked.

Important information

There will be no backpatch club wearers allowed on site. The festival has a designated fire safe area for BBQ's onsite. This year alcohol is allowed on site, however no glass bottles and no alcohol to be brought into the arena. The site does not allow bonfires, BBQs or burning of waste/rubbish etc.

The festival offers free camping, and free parking for bikes and trikes.
