Innerfield, Planet Yes and Turbozone are present The Rocket Festival from Friday 16th to Sunday 18th May. This is a diverse festival set in the mountains of Andalucia close to the city of Granada.

The aim of the festival is to bring together as diverse a range of entertainment as possible with artists, crew and festival goers from all over Europe with a style and atmosphere inspired by the free festival movement in the UK.

With bands, electronic live acts and DJ’s on 6 stages the music is a selection of the best of the British festival scene combined with modern and traditional Spanish acts and other European acts.

Late night partying is well catered for with themed bars and venues including the Rocket regulars Lost Morals Bar (wrong'uns cabaret and disco), Radio Disturbo (electro tekno) and Tribal Funk (beats and breaks). Mixing up the continental sounds are Spanish favourites Muchacito, Bombo Inferno, Discípulos de Otilia, and Los Delinquentes.

Plus the bar from Star Wars, complete with alien musicians, makes an appearance this year - Cantina Galactica. The Rocket this year has a Space fancy dress theme for Saturday and everyone can join in. Dress up as a sexy alien, deadly robot, or anything spacey and join in the festival parade in costume on Saturday or hang out in the space bar. Prizes will go to the best costumes. The Cantina Galactica will host a variety of acts – cabaret, bands, djs and more. The festival is also running a competition for video artists to submit a piece of work called 'Window onto a New World' the best of which will be shown on a giant window onto the planets surface in the Cantina Galactica during the festival.

Also expect an outdoor circus stage, kid’s area, healing area, cinema tent, chill out area, extreme sports and a sculptures around the site featuring amazing metal monsters by Wrekon (Mutoid Waste).

The campsite opens to the public Thursday 18th May at noon and closes on Monday 23rd May 6pm. There will be regular Shuttle buses before and after the festival to the nearby airports as well as special deals with hire car companies and local accommodation.

Children under 12 years old are allowed into the festival for free, ID is required for kids if they look like they might be over 9. Children aged 12 to 16 years old are full price and must be accompanied by an adult. Anybody who looks under 21 should bring photo identification as proof of age.
