Roundhouse Rising is a new week long festival taking place at the Roundhouse in London between Monday 21st and Saturday 26th February 2011. The event presents new music acts across a wide range of genres.
Programmed in partnership with new stars of the UK music scene, including promoters Eat Your Own Ears and 12 Tone Records, Rising is a series of unique performances, international artist collaborations, music industry seminars and creative workshops.

And it's not just music there'll be Creative Projects throughout the weeks with prices ranging from £2 to £20 to attend. As well as a strong emphasis on young programmers getting involved in the festival, there will also be creative projects for 11-25s running throughout the week. These include a Music Producers Remix Session, Sound Engineering Workshop, Band Photography, Music Video Master class with Jonny Stopford , Create Your Own Fanzine hosted by Clinic, Album in a Day Recording , The Album Artwork Project, and Un-Convention with Featured Artist Coalition.The latter features 200 participants, 60 music industry professionals and the Featured Artist Coalition (FAC) involved, the day features talks and panels including 'Music as a Tool for Social Change, 'The Politicisation of Music', 'New Music Strategies', and an 'Event and Festival Session' with Huw Stephens (Radio 1). Guests include Billy Bragg, Emily Eavis and Kate Nash.
A range of new digital platforms and strategies will also be showcased including MusicGlue, SoundCloud and Radar Maker.
Accompanying the seminars will be the Album in a Day project, with the musicians Jon McClure (Reverend & The Makers), Viv Albertine (The Slits), Late of the Pier, Didz (Dirty Pretty Things) [and others on board to lend their skills] Jagz Kooner (Manic Street Preachers, Primal Scream) producing, workshop attendees will be recording ?London Calling? by The Clash.
There will also be the café and several bars.
Accommodation
This event does not have camping but there are a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in the area.More information will be here when available.
