Friday 4th July opens with the Blake Statue. Blue Moon Theatre on Wheels will be presenting, 'The World in a Box' at 4pm with free admission. There will also be The Engine Room (film) and taster workshops from 10am - 5pm with free tours from 5pm-6pm.
At St Mary's Church, Wessex 8 and Friends will celebrate the centenary of Robin Milford with music and song from the period 1900-1925 beginning at 7.30pm with a retiring collection. Sedgemoor Contemporary Music Group presents 'The Big Original Gig! with lots of original bands at the Three Crowns from 6pm till late. Tickets: £4 and £3.
The main event on Saturday 5th July at Cranleigh Gardens will be 'Something for the Weekend 2003' and the 'Crusaders Summer Fete' from 11am - 10pm. This will be a day of live music on an outdoor stage, with a wide range of genres playing original music. There will also be circus workshops from 1pm until 4pm and international cabaret from 'Swervy World' at 5pm. Starting at the same time and in the same place, is the Crusaders Carnival Club afternoon fete with a bouncy castle and refreshment tent.
In St Mary's Church Yard, the Chandos Society are having a Painting Day from 10.30am to 4.30pm with the opportunity to see the artists at work.
There will be lots of performances and activities in the town centre from 10am onwards such as Tropical Heat, a samba band with a parade up Fore Street to Cornhill; a Craft Market and Childrens Fair Ride; The Great Dave, juggler and unicyclist; 'Rivertones Chorus', barbershop singers singing well known tunes; Nicky McCretton's young dancers performing live, and the Arts Centre Community Choir, 'Voice of the People', performing songs, chants and rounds from all over the globe. There'll also be musical entertainment outside the Strings and Things shop in the Clare Street area, and light classical and jazz in Angel Crescent. In the evening, from 9pm-3am, there'll be a Pop Party Night at The Palace with tickets at £5/£4.
On Sunday 6th July in Blake Gardens, there's a free workshop with the Sedgemoor Scrap Store from 10.30am until 1pm and more free circus workshops from 1pm until 4pm.
Sunday afternoon concerts include a free performance from the Burtle Silver Band from 3pm until 5pm with refreshments by the Friends of Blake Museum. At St Mary's Church there will be a 'Celebration of the Arts' and a service at 6.30pm making a thanksgiving for the Arts in Bridgwater, and the Festival itself.
