Stainsby Festival 2011

Every summer for the past 43 years, this tiny hamlet comes alive to the sound of some of the best music to be heard anywhere in the country. Held in colourful marquees on a greenfield site at Brunt's Farm, there are stunning views across the valley to the National Trust's Hardwick Hall.

Run by unpaid volunteers as a not-for-profit charity, all the money goes back into the music and nowhere else. The dates for 2011 are confirmed as from Friday 22nd until Sunday 24th July.

Line-up

Friday: Rory McLeod & Band, David Gibb & the Pony Club, Edwina Hayes, Liv Torc, Rampant Horse Collective.

Saturday: Chris Wood, Dom DeCicco & Paul Sax, Rory McLeod, The Top Shelalas, David Gibb, Rampant Horse Collective, Jess Morgan, Brian Boothby & David Sturt, Young Songwriters' Showcase, Loscoe State Opera.

Sunday: Lucy Ward, Dizraeli & the Small Gods, Vin Garbutt, Chris Wood, Love Life & Liberty, plus The Late Lost Padres (tbc), and Nigel West (tbc).

Tickets

Early bird tickets are no longer available. Tickets are priced at £70 for the weekend Youth tickets for those aged 12 to 17 years are priced at £20. Kids under 12 years old get in free if accompanied by an adult. To buy tickets, click here.

Attractions

Other attractions include children's entertainers, music workshops, drumming sessions, Morris Dancers, Healing Circle, craft stalls, Singers' competition, singaround, Arabic Dance workshop, fire shows, real ales, and wicker structures.

On site

There is free camping and car parking for all weekend tickets holders. The festival opens at 12 noon on Friday and closes at 8pm on Sunday.
