St Albans MusicCity takes place from Saturday 15th until Sunday 23rd March 2014 at various venues around St Albans, Hertfordshire. St Albans MusicCity celebrates a vibrant live music scene by encompassing everything from traditional folk, blues and jazz through to indie, metal and pop across all the key music pubs and venues in the district.

Line-up

As part of St Albans MusicCity 2014 The Pioneer Youth Centre will be hosting a special celebratory (all ages) gig on the opening Saturday followed by an after-show gig at The Horn. The Pioneer Youth Centre will also be the subject of a complimentary exhibition at The Museum of St Albans (for the whole of March) celebrating their integral role in the St Albans Music (and skateboard) scene, from The Zombies to Enter Shikari and beyond.

Other highlights of this diverse and vibrant festival include the Gospel Festival Day with master classes and performances by the London Community Gospel Choir, a Steampunk ball with live music from Ghostfire, an open air samba session and choral music in the cathedral.

Most events are free, although there are a few paid for events.

The festival also offers workshops plus open mic sessions as well as special events around the district. 

Accommodation

This event does not have camping but there are a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in St Albans, and the surrounding area.
